For over 45 years, Summer Adventure has been a fun, safe place for kids to connect with other kids and learn and grow under the watchful care of skilled counselors in a Christian environment.  Summer break at Summer Adventure has proven to be a highlight of the entire year.  With two offerings, the camp has a place for most everyone that is age and developmentally appropriate.
The high energy elementary program is for kids entering grades 1 through 6, while the cool junior high program is for campers entering grades 7 through 9.  Kids will have the opportunity to take day trips to lakes, amusement parks, water parks, indoor bounce parks, and various other locations, soaking in new experiences in a safe way.  When on the camp property at the church, the campers enjoy an exciting opening and closing rally each day with games and catchy songs, Bible time, crafts, competition, team time, and snack shop for those rumbling tummies.  For a rundown of a typical on site day, click here.
No child is ever lost in the crowd, as small teams allow for an effective counselor-to-camper ratio, giving each child to have ample individual attention.  One of the most precious gifts kids walk away with is the investment the counselors have made into their lives as they influence character development.  If you want a place where kids can have an exhilarating and impactful time in a safe, Christian environment, Summer Adventure is the place to be.  Once you come once, you won’t want to stop!

Summer Adventure sells out quickly so we encourage interested families to register early! Registration is limited to children who will be entering 1st-6th grade and 7th-9th grade in the fall on a first come, first served basis. A non-refundable deposit of $100/week reserves your camper's place. The remaining balance must be received by June 1, 2023.  If the remaining balance is not received by June 1, your space may be forfeited. Camp tuition includes: staff salaries and training, program costs, insurance, field trip transportation and fees, licensing fees and crafts. Walk-in registrations are not permitted. The children are divided into age groups to allow for age-appropriate activities.

Every effort is taken to ensure the safety of your child. The ratio of staff to children is about 1 to 7, and key staff members are certified in CPR, life guarding, water safety and first aid. To ensure your child’s safety, camper drop-off and pick-up policy will require you to sign your child both in and out on a daily basis. Any other pick-up arrangements will require a written note with your signature when dropping off your child in the morning. For safety reasons, there will be no exceptions to this policy. In accordance with Connecticut state law, no child will be admitted to camp without a current medical examination by a licensed physician. We must have a copy on file before your child will be allowed to attend.

The regular camp day runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Pre-care (7:30-9:00 AM) and post-care (4:00-5:30 PM) are available for an additional cost. Staff supervision and activities will be provided during these additional hours.  Transportation to and from Summer Adventure is the responsibility of the parents.

Summer Adventure’s staff consist of Black Rock Church staff and college students who have a love for children. The staff strives to build wholesome relationships as positive Christian role models.
